Detailed notes of work completed is mandatory. Your notes serve as the official record of service, the summary of discussions, and the client’s receipt.

Documentation Guidelines

  • Note Apps: Use a reliable note app like Microsoft OneNote, Samsung Notes, or Notion to track job details.
  • Mandatory Summary: A full detailed report is not needed. A basic summary including important points/details is all that is required and is mandatory.

What to Include in Your Notes:

  1. Client/Location Details: Client name, date, time in/out, address, and residency type.
  2. Work Summary (What was done): A concise, itemized list of every task completed (e.g., “Start-up Optimized,” “Junk file cleanup”).
  3. Findings & Issues: Any critical discoveries (e.g., “3 PUPs removed,” “No backup system found”).
  4. Client Discussion: What was explained to or discussed with the client (e.g., “Discussed cloud backup options,” “Referred to BackBlaze”).
  5. Billing Breakdown: A clear, step-by-step breakdown of all charges and payment details.

Example Job Report

This example shows the mandatory level of detail required for a security cleanup job.
