Junk File Clean-up - BleachBit

BleachBit is a free, open-source application used to quickly clean system junk, temporary files, and application caches.

1. Download and Installation

  1. Download BleachBit: Get the installer from the official website: https://www.bleachbit.org/download
  2. Prerequisites: If you receive an error during installation (e.g., related to MSVCR100.dll), you may need to install the C++ 2010 Runtimes: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/msvcr100-dll/826a842c-7a2f-4ebc-bb21-4cee86b234b0

On BleachBit’s opening screen, enable the following cleaning options for a thorough junk file removal:

  • Temporary Files
  • Web Browser(s) Cache (For all installed browsers)
  • System Prefetch, Recycle bin & Temporary files
  • Windows Defender Quarantine & Log files
